Can anyone point me in the right direction of a clamp to secure my oil feed pipe (2.5mm internal and 4mm external I believe) to the inlet on the carb. I've not gone premix as of yet and I'm a bit paranoid about the pipe coming off again and me seizing another top end. Many thanks once again people. Sean. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
heres some 6mm pipe clamps and oil clips http://www.donotlink-pedstop.co.uk/p-Oil_pipe_tube_clamp-6185.aspx http://www.euroscooterparts.co.uk/hose-clamps-6mm-20-pieces-universal.html
Have I been looking for the wrong thing then, I assumed for 4mm pipe I'd need 4mm clamps. Will 6mm ones do the job then ?? Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
heres a quick fix for a pipe fixture 1 roll of electrical tape 1 ziptie wrap a good few rotations around the pipe end of the electrical tape this is to protect the pipe so the ziptie does not cut into it or/and split it. slip the tape end of that pipe onto the oil barb nipple , if its a bit loose dont worry to much just make sure its fully seated down. now slip the ziptie round and affix it, DO NOT be yanking that puppy really really tight, idea is to get it tight enough it hold the barbs on the nipple but does not allow the pipe to come away. job done. i done this on my fuel pipe, i had a 6mm barb and the bike shop fitted an 8mm pipe , i got stopped outside a bike store by a helpful motorist that noticed my scoot dropping fuel everywhere ( was a full tank i had, ended up with under a quarter of a tank ) , had to push my scoot to a couple garages before one helped me out and gave me some tape and a ziptie, the makeshift fix lasted 2 months untill i swapped for a larger carb it will work on an oil pipe just as good to
