In California we have four seasons.
    Fire
    Flood
    Earthquake
    Drought

Today the hills are on fire less than 2 miles from my place. Freaking again!
I rode the scooter down to the fire line, and it looks bad.
The wind is over 20mph, humidity is less than 10%
I am surrounded by dry hills. Oh well.

I could get an evacuation call at any time.

    Good weather has a price.

When the humidity is down to 8% it just takes a fart to blow two sticks together.

Nope, the fart seemed to have done it.
The fire burned to the ocean but magically a fire truck was defending every million dollar house all the way to the sea.

No structure loss, no one got hurt. The canyon can't burn again for another two years. Everyone wins.
    This time.

So we are not on fire now, at least as far as I can tell.

I have to get to Washington State where they have water falling from the sky. I think it is called rain.
This place is dry, expensive, and going to become more of each. Time for go.

Scuba: I want to move to Western Washington State USA.
They have lots of rain, but mild weather. It rarely snows, or freezes.
Everything is green, and they have few wild fires.
The cost of living is very inexpensive.
The chance of finding a job is just slightly better than England... not so good, but if you have a skill like computer systems engineering or motorcycle mechanics you can make a living.

Most people up there have several businesses depending on the season.
Personally I am going to buy a motorcycle hauling rig and mount it in my truck. I can do motorcycle towing during the 3 month summer. Computer work the rest of the year.....

    It could work, quit laughing.

Oh Hell, we are on fire again today. The fire is only 25% controlled. 20,000 people were evacuated, but no homes damaged so far.
The temperature is going to be over 90F here today. Imagine fighting fire in 90 degrees heat, wearing full gear, and pulling hose in that heat.... plus the fire.

So it is hot, the wind is blowing up to 35mph, and there are about 300 firefighters out on the line a few miles from my house.

I loaded up my truck with bottled water from the local grocery store and took it to the fire line this morning and left it with the logistics people for the fire fighters. They seemed appreciative.

    Life in paradise continues.

I came home and had a shot of tequila and a beer. That put a different edge on the day.
Not my norm, but no work today, and it sucks outside. Too windy to ride, and I am afraid if I leave my area, I may not be able to get back in if we are evacuated.

The last fire I left home, and could not get back for 2 days. The trick is to stay at home.
We live in a desert that burns yearly, so we build our communities to be fire resistant now.
I live in one of the first "Shelter in place" communities in San Diego.
Everything is fire resistant, the buildings are all stucco with fireproof roofs.
All the plants are fire resistant in the community.
We also have three 350,000 gallon water tanks filled for fire fighting only in the hills near us.

So I will be working in the computer room, or the garage today.
Too bad, the scoot is running so good now that I have started tuning it like the POS it is.

One day everything is normal, the next day half drunk by 10:00AM and working indoors due to the smoke and wind.

    and so it goes......

Freaking sobered up now.... we now have five different fires, and three are upwind of where I live.
    Nasty stuff.
They lost a lot of houses earlier today from the first fire that is burning to the coast with 35mph winds.
It is a blast furnace, and everything flammable catches on fire.

I tried a local run on the scoot. You can't safely ride a scoot in 35mph winds.
It is definitely car time if you need to drive.

Forget this stuff, time for something entirely different.

Nine fires were started in San Diego County. Only one was an accident. Bummer.

Today the temp is down to 80 degrees F and pretty good riding weather if you have a mesh Kevlar jacket to let the air through.
The fires are still burning, so there is a lot of smoke out, still I needed to ride a bit this morning, and am taking a ride this evening with friends close to the burn area.
The burned out areas are very large, miles.
