I took my tranny case off my bike while it was idling on the stand. I revved it an could see the clutch moving an variator, Took the bike off its stand an rode up the drive, tops out at about 15. What could it be?
its not your clutch becos the bike dosent really use the clutch after 10mph does it rev loads or just a small amount if it revs loads it problay your belt slipping ...or your sliders are causing the variaotor is not engaging fully or if it is not revving it is your rollers more than likely
Right. I kicked the bike, left it to idle undone the nuts on the case pulled it off. Everything was doing as it should. Then i revved it an i could see the belt moving up an down and the variator moving out a litle bit an the clutch moving out. Ill sit on the bike an rev it full throttle an itll slowly hit 15mph but revs up to 8-9000 rpm an will stay at 8000rpm whilst only doing 15mph if you get me haha thanks
if it crawls to 15 why not try lowering the weights of the rollers. maybe try using 3 weights instead of 6 which will half the weight in theorey try that. see if its revs out much higher. also the clutch and variator should move as you rev, the variator should close up and the belt move up on the pulley and the clutch end should open and the belt should lower
I was riding it as normal with the newish rollers then it suddenly started doing it it must be transmission related though ?
Its tempting, but riding 40 miles with duel carrageways at 15mph put me off haha. If mums mate would bring it in the van i would then if its fixed ride home
The only place thatl tough peds round here i an old man. He wanted 70 quid to git new clutch springs which he said wa cheap for what it is haha
