ive got an air cooled nrg with 70kit, 21mm carb, malossi cdi, malossi variator, malossi clutch.. picked the bike up a few weeks ago and all has been great, very fast for what it is, but now its stuterting, it pulls away fine for a second or 2 then it just holds back, its like its not getting enough air, but i dont understand how it could just suddenly do it? any one have any ideas, i did top up the oil a week ago with car lube 2t, but i dont think that will be the problem
1. your 2t oil is shite. get putoline, silkolene or castrol 2. clean your carb, clean your air filter and check your compression.
how do i check the compression? with a normal car compression tester? is there a guide to cleaning the carb? dont want to touch it and break it..
yeah a car compression tester will do anything below 80 and its low. as for the carb, it goes together in the opposite order to how it comes apart. take pictures if your'e unsure.
you seem pretty clued up, do you know what plug is used in the bike? i figure if im going to check everything i may as well change this as well, bk9es ?
nice one, cheers mate you've been a help, ill change the plug, drain the oil and put some good stuff init then see what happens, dont realy wanna start messing around with the carb/jets, i realy dont know what im doing.. im guessing someone on here will come and sort it in exchange for beer money??
leave your oil, run it low (not out) then top it up with good stuff, one load of shite oil through it won't hurt.
yeah, if you're 10 min away i'll help but i'm not riding to lands end to take a dead spider out of a carb. (yes i have had that experience once before and no i don't know how it got in).
no where near you mate, im in Croydon, ill change the plug then have a go at it... the batterys dead as well but iirc they run fine when the battery is dead?
