HEY EVERYONE  SO I GOT MYSELF AN NRG MC3 AC A FEW MONTHS BACK, ONLY COST ME 150 QUID....BARGAIN! SO I GOT IT HOME CHANGED THE PLUG AND OFF ITT WENT RAN FINE.... THEN THE PROBLEMS STARTED! :rules: ....FIRST THE TECNIGAS EXHAUST WENT SNAP. NOT THT I PARTICULLY WANTED IT  THEN CARB PROBLEMS, ETC ALL SORTS, SO GOT ALL THT SORTED...AND RAN FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND NOW IT WONT START!!!!!!!! :cray: ANYWAY ITS GOT A WEBER 18MM CARB, WHICH ALWAYS RAN FINE BUT RANDOMLY HAS JUST STARTED PLAYING UP (WELL I THINK) , SO I GO OUT EVERY MORNING AND I KICK IT OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER AND OVER :beg: , NO LUCK! :banghead: BUT EVERY SO OFTEN IT WILL VERY NEARLY START, BUT AFTER A MILLION KICKS I GET IT STARTED, TAKE IT FOR A RIDE.....IT SEEMS THAT WHEN ITS WARM IT STARTS OKK ETC. BUT WHEN ITS COLD, NO LUCK!, SO AUTOMATICALLY I THINK CHOKE! SO I CHECK IT, ALL SEEMS FINE, NOW I CANT GET IT STARTED AT ALL!! SO AS IT USES A CRAPPY ELECTRIC CHOKE COULD IT BE A WIRING FAULT? ENGINE EARTHING? REALLY STUCK!!! HELP!!! :cray: THANKS JOEL
it fucked up a few times... sounds like dead rings/barrel/piston if im honest. check the easy stuff (reeds, new plug, clean the carb and so on as per the haynes manual) but ye.. i dont think this lil engines got much left in it
HEY, THANKS MINOR, GOT THE PROBLEM SORTED TODAY AS IT CAME TO A POINT WHERE I HAD TO, THIS MORNING AFTER POSTING LASTNITE, I FITTED NEW REEDS AND SPARK .... SO FEW KICKS, NOT PERFECT! BUT BETTER! AFTER ABOUT 30-40 KICKS IT STARTED, SO TOOK IT FOR A FEW LAPS ROUND THE BLOCK, AND THEN....BURRRRRRRRRRRRR :banghead: ....WOULDNT GO! SO I PUSHED IT HOME  TOOK THE CYLINDER APART, NOT GOOD! SCORED PISTON, RINGS AND LITTLE BIT OF BORE, SO LUCKILY ENOUGH I HAD A FEW SPARE BITS, EG: PISTON AND RINGS. FITTED THEM, AND SECOND KICK! OFF IT WENT TICKED OVER NICELY, SO ANYWAY JUST GOT IN FROM DOING ITT AND HAVNT HAD TIME TO TAKE IT FOR A RIDE, AND IM A BIT WORRIED ABOUT THAT PART TBH. ANY IDEA WHAT COULD OF CAUSED THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE??, OHH AND AFTER IT CUT OUT (BEFORE I WALKED IT HOME) THERE WAS A THIN SMOKE TRICKLING FROM THE CYLINDER AND THE EXHAUST, ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED, JUST SCARED ITS GUNNA HAPPEN AGAIN, NOT TO WORRIED AS IVE GOT A 70 KIT IM WAITING FOR, BUT ITS A HASSLE WHEN THEY DO "SEIZE" THANKS JOEL
IT COULD BE THAT A PISTON RING HAS BROKEN AND SCORED UP THE CYLINDER. (I assume writing only in unreadable Capitals is the new style of forum posts?, Seriously, is your caps lock key broken or something?) But seriously, if anything has gotten into your cylinder through the carb/air inlet that could have scored it up or when the techniwank went pop something might have entered the cylinder. Its also possible that a bit of the piston ring chipped off and scored up the cylinder. Are you running pumped oil or premix? Its possible that not enough oil was in the cylinder and therefore it heat seized and then unseized its self causing all the scoring.
sorry bou the caps lol, and the techniwank went ages before this happened, but the oil is pumped, which i dont really trust tbh, when i fit the 70 kit think im gunna run pre-mix 45-1
If I were you, I would check that oil is acutally getting to the cylinder from the tank, Ive seen this happen a few times now where the oil pump stops working or the tube gets blocked and then the engine heat seizes when someone is riding along, not only that because there still riding the engine unseizes its self and continues running without any oil (Not good!). So yeah, when you convert to the 70 kit, convert to Premix and get rid of the pumped oil system.
