So I've ordered my Leo Vince exhaust and have been surfing the net looking around trying to find some answers to questions and more parts for it. I came across something called '' CDI '' but I couldn't find any information on it or how to install one, all I know is that it should help the acceleration? As my bike is really sluggish to 25. But once i get there, I'm at 50mph without even knowing. But im hoping the pipe & rollers should sort that out right? (Makes pulling out at roundabouts really awkward LOL ) And for a Malossi air filter, does it make enough difference to make it worth buying? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/-MALOSSI-RED-...744363&cguid=fbffdc1a1280a0aad1e48fd4fe59fd06 Something like that, as mine even when cleaned is stained black and not in the best of condition. Im trying to add as little as possible, so when it comes round to selling it some time next year, it will sell fast xD So i dont want any big bore 70 kits or stuff like that.
If your planning to sell it next year then dont spend a penny on tuning it, will be a complete waste of your time and money & will decrease the value of your bike. The slow pull off sounds like heavy or worn out roller weights to me. Does the bike have the standard exhaust or an aftermarket one? Or it could be carb related, running lean or an air leak has occured. Check the airbox is fitted correctly, check for splits in the rubber and in the rubber manifold. A CDI unit wont help at all on a 50 (or even some 70's) as it will never rev high enough to hit the limiter, fitting a unlimited CDI removes the limiter, for race spec engines only. Fitting an open airfilter will reduce performance on a standard 50. It'll be a pain to setup and drink fuel, it'll be louder but abit slower than running the airbox.
So I guess ill pass up on the CDI then At the moment the bike has the stock pipe on which to my knowledge has be de-restricted. I should have the pipe & rollers by tomorow, so once they're in I'm hoping that the acceleration will be better. Also inside of the air box, there a gold fixing restricting the air flow, we took it out and try to run it, but it just bogged down and the power cut out when you tried to apply some throttle. I was told, if i were to remove the fixing, I'd had to upjet the carb? Does anyone know the price of getting it up-jetted and what they do to it? Any answers are highly appreciated xD
The gold piece isn't a restriction. It's to help with regulating the jetting on a stock bike. You should be upjetting the carb, fitting stronger clutch springs and lighter rollers when fitting an aftermarket exhaust.
So i got my pipe today and we fitted it, after a little trouble with a bent stud but we got it on in the end. Then we moved onto replacing the rollers they sent us, only to find they'd sent us the wrong size rollers. The current ones in the engine were 19x15 mm and the ones they provided were 16x13. Major cock up. Ring them up tomorrow and get them to send me some for free hopefully, as the old ones need to be replaced as you can see they're not in the best of condition.
theres no guarantee that the right size rollers leo vince send out to you will be the ideal weight for your application...
