A friend of mine has an NRG MC3? (56 plate or something) scooter. He bought it a couple of years back, Asked for it to be de-restricted at the shop. They Bolted on a Metrakit pipe and gave him a bag with some rollers in, said they didn't have time to fit them. And sent him on his way £200 later. At this stage I didnt know him, It wasnt until he started going out with my sister that I got friendly with him, started helping him sort his scooter out etc. Last year, He bought a Leo Vince ZX pipe because the Metrakit one was shocking, the scooter hesitated to pull out SAFELY at a junction!!! I stripped it down, fitted the Leo Vince ZX pipe, Went to put the lighter metrakit Rollers in PROVIDED with the Exhaust he bought from the dealer 2 years back, And they were the wrong size. physically too small! :msn1: Anyway, He rode it with the ZX on, It improved but its still slow. As a temp measure I have removed the foam from the air box and stretched some tights over the inlet, But kept the airbox on. It runs 10x better like this, but its not ideal. Today the Leo Vince ZX pipe snapped clean off. Ive welded it up at work but its cracking again further up the manifold now, Its rotten. Where is a good place to start in exhaust choice, I know about the Pipe selection thread, But I was wondering if anyone has had any hands on experience with this scooter, And After market exhaust pipes. Ive had the thing apart, Its basically a standard NRG, With the Variator de-restricted and a "Performance (less)" exhaust. Cheers boys and girls. Ben
the best cheap and cheerfull exhaust i would say leo vince tt work well on stock barrel. around a 5% upjet if it hadent alreay. and rollers around 5.7g soon as you get the pipe treat it. best bet vht it.
As above but put the foam back in the air box, use the metrakit exhaust and fit stronger clutch springs which should have been done in the first place. i'm guessing the exhaust is the Matrakit Handmade but if you get a picture i can tell you for sure.
