Just bought this for my son. It's I'm need of a load of tlc! Picked it up for £60 A local lad crashed it back in 2008 and sold it to someone around the corner to me, They never got round to sorting it and parked it in the garage. These are the only pics I have of it atm I took them on the garden where I bought it. I've started to strip it down and have removed most of the plastics. I'm going to rub them down and respray them the same colour. While they are off I will clean the engine and frame up and rub the exhaust down and heat paint it. I'm going to go over every nut and bolt and replace the ones that need to be. Got a little list of parts I need, found nearly all of them on eBay at a reasonable price so will prob be buying them over the next month as and when I get to them. I will upload more pics later of my progress. All comments welcome! Thanks for looking. Stu
fuck man looks like an interesting project and the bike is a mess lol proper for its money though... does it run? also is it going for a 70 kit? or just stock? needs so much work... good luck mate
Thanks mate It's staying Stock, it will be my sons first bike so keeping it stock is good enough lol Yeah it's a mess but it's straight and honest... Stripped back hasn't shown any horrors, so it's just a bit of elbow Grease and paint for the frame and panels. And some new used parts to get it upto scratch. I haven't heard it running but it turned over fine with the kick start. If it works out to need an engine rebuild that's fine! I've rebuilt engines in cars and restored 20 year old cars over the last 8 years. It should be as good as new when I've finished.
I'm a house husband lol Came out of work January, I was in the motor manufacturing but not a mechanic. Restoring cars is a hoby mate. I've just sold my latest one Nissan pulsar Gtir 4wd turbo running just over 300bhp
lovely car, yeah i always loved to restore stuff but it would be good to do it as a job aswell would like to do a job that has to do with cars or bikes but its something that cant be done here..
It's good to do mate but when it takes a long time you loose interest easily! It took me 18 months to do this one and right at the last stage I sold up Got fed up with it and lost all heart. It didn't help rebuilding a mates engine on my drive. Why can't you do anything where you are? I bought a 1981 bmx the other week to restore, just getting hands on with something is rewarding regardless of size...
im from greece... and its very very hard to find a job around here.. especially with cars or bikes since we have plenty of people who are good at what they are doing...
Ah, I see. You could still do a small project in your yard couldn't you? I've started painting things I've decided to do a colour change, I won't show you now tho. All will be revealed when I put it all back together and the new decals arrive. It's all painted now, just drying off.
We like the original colour aswell, but it was cheaper and easier to change the colour. Plus my son likes the monster energy theme, so that's what I've gone with. Here's how it looks at the moment, just waiting on a few more parts and the decals and then it will be complete. I'm going to replace the indicator lenses for smoke black ones. I still need to paint the front mud guard and belly pan.
looking good waiting to see how it turns out with the decals and the mudgaurd and belly pan sprayed and smoked indicators
Thanks guys. I haven't had any time to do anything since the last update I have put some decals on it tho Money is tight so it won't be finished as quick as I wanted.
