i have just got a nrg 50. i went for alittle ride on it and it did about 34mph top end the scooter is standard i was wondering if anyone on here could help me out with easy tuning which will make my scooter quicker. i was thinking about a 70 kit but i do not know much about scooters so i do not know which parts i need to make it run well with a 70s kit any help would be good thanks Dean
my little brother had an nrg 50 2008 plate, once derestricted it quite happily did 45 on the cl;ocks and was even seen to hit 60 on a big hill with a nice flat run after either yours is restricted or something isnt quiet right
when i got my 2006 nrg LC, it had been "derestricted". on the exhaust, the two pipes that come off it (catalitic converter??) were welded closed. my bike did 45 happily then. i dont know if it was just that though, they could have done something else.
mine did 54 clock speed standard de restricted it had 4.3 malossi rollers and an exhaust thats it there is a washer in the variator thats restricting it and a restrictor in the exhaust
thanks im going to try get a pipe which one is good and pritty cheap as i dont want to spend to much money on it? and im know im going to sound stupid but what is the variator and where is it? and is it an east job changeing rollers and takeing the washer out of the variator? thanks Dean
you tube man it will show you evrything edit: just get a second hand one if you havent got alot of money, i have a techni gas on mine and apparently there the shitest ones
Have a look on the budget tuning guide on the forum buddy! If you don't know much about scooters, you'll want to go to a garage to get the kit on. However, this can be expensive! So, if you want a bit more speed, invest in a sports pipe. Leo vince TT, is cheap and cheerful pipe that comes with rollers and clutch springs. Then upjet the carb. All of this is really simple todo, but from experience it will not give half the amount of gains in power in comparison to a 70 kit!
