take the plug out as its probably wet with excess fuel, from when the filter got wet and made the engine run rich ;)

leave overnight to give the cdi and other exposed loom bits to dry. take plug out and turn the engine over for a few seconds to get any eccess shit out. put a new plug in dry the filter and it should be ok

spray everywhere with wd-40 and leave it for 10 mins... bit in the carb wont hurt (only a small squirt at full throttle)

wd-40 does not and has never contained silicone hence can also be used as easy start.. its a cleaner more than a lubricant, water dispersant where as silicone spray is a lubricant. totally diff ;)

you have to check for a strong visible spark...getting a shock only means electric is going to the plug!!!

its what happens once it reaches the plug were interested in ;)
