    Hi

I have a Yamaha YQ 50 Aerox 2014 from new.

I haven’t started it for four years plus, the engine cranked but would not start, I laid the ped down to change the spark plug, now the engine wont even crank.

Is there a safety cut-off mechanism when the bike has been on its side or is there something else which is stopping the engine from starting.

"I laid the ped down to change the spark plug".......................HUH?????

No, no cut off or tilt sensor. You've obviously either shorted something or blown the fuse

Yep! Laid it down to change the plug on a nice thick piece of carpet, saves the scratches… its easier than trying to get underneath it on the stand.

Nope! Haven’t shorted something or blown a fuse, the starter motor packed up, simples.
