hi there is no petrol getting to the top end, i have taken the carb off checked for blockages or dirt but its going through perfectly. it was working fine all day until then it started to cut out every time i idled now it just wont start. i think it has heat seized but i aint got a clue. anyone got any ideas??
it kicks over perfectly sounds like itds just bout to start and just doesnt lol my mate said when his heat seized it sounded exactly the same
my speedfight does this :/ just wont start and theres beast compression & a spark, no fuel's getting to top end tho kicks over fine, but just doesnt start, splutters like its gunna strt just doesnt
thats exactly what mine does breamy how you check for vacume/airleaks?? anyone else know of any possible reasons for this cheers
quick thing to do which might solve it, whip off you vacuum pipe, apply vacuum/suck for about 20seconds attack vacuum back on and see if it starts if it doesn't unscrew the float bowl about 1 turn on one side and tip it slightly see if fuel comes out oh and make sure your vacuum is attached on the fuel tap and carb
done it all r lasses dad reckoned there'd be a air bubble or summet in teh vacumn as i ran the scoot bone dry, but petrol pisses thru the carb when float bowl's off fuck this Some fucker come fix it for me, ill pay you and feed you etc, ill even skin up if your into that stuff pm me
done em all too still nothing i still think it could be to do with my top end but are there any more possible errors which doesnt involve taking my top end off?
someone glued ya reeds toghether? most probably an air leak make make sure your inlet theres no tears or rips in it
theres fuckall wrong withit no air leaks or fuckall, stripped carb etc still fuckall up was nothing in jets or owt i reckon its the wank immobiliser or some bollocks
If you believe its heat seized, the compression would be out the window. Drop a compression test on it before resorting to stripping the top end should be around 120psi for a good one and at least over 100
could well be oil seals/cylinder related. buy a manual. clueless and trying to fix your bike. need more than a website. manual has ALL the fault finding info you need to atleast givce you an idea whats wrong. wont get to the bottom of it wihtout ripping it apart and you dont wanna be doing that with no idea how anything works... we sure as hell dont want to explain every little thing all over again when theres a manual you can just buy. fault find, ask the easiest way to fix the problems you find. if you cant find the prob you need to find somone who can im afraid.
well 2day i swapped my inlet and reed blocks with a couple spares i have and got the bike started but its a struggle and it just cuts straight out after releasing the throttle and lets out lots of smoke.
wheyyyy got petrol getting to the top end but also coolant i thinks i may need a new gasket sound about right to anyone else??
ok OIL SEALS and a new top end gasget set...... if fuel gets to the bottom of an engine and not the top theres no pre compression, emanign the reeds or oil seals are fucked at bare minimum.. compression check will tell you wether its rings OR oil seals altho like i said compression tests are FUCK ALL use for determining engine failure, mearly built compression when altering squish and the like, ive read 120psi on a cracked piston befor now. more than once. scored to fuck barrel, wont ever run, still had 120psi. melted piston and cylinder can make a verry good seal and still not run. ether way do a compression test or remove the cylinder... you will know if its rings or oil seals.
mayb where u was trying to start it wih broken/open reedsd its filled the bottem end with petrol, try takink it for a good ride should clear it's self through
earlier i started it up with a strugle and tried taking it for a lil ride but when i tried going up the drive it was doing less than 1000 revs and just cutting out and sending me back down the drive lol
SILLY!!!!!!!!!!!! if in doubt dont fucking EVER start an engine with unknown fluid in it.....should be banned for such advice. if theres fluid in your engine it needs stripping, lubricating and rebuilding repairing the ORIGIANL reason the fluid got in the engine. even petrol will dilute oil on parts and prittymuch means your engine is running lubricant free. SILLY move. dry it out, lube it up, replace the gasgets, start again
