new shape runner VS old shape runner

ive got a new shape runner, and my mates just bought an old shape runner. There both tuned exactly the same. Mines is all standard panels though whereas his has an evo kit. He wants to swap with me and i know theres loads more spares available for an old shape, but is it worth it? I like my digital clocks and bigger wheels, but like the idea that if i have an old shape runner and i smash the panels i can easily get hold of another set. Anyone think i should swap? His panels are cracked and mine are like new, but all his indicators work and his has a proper ignition whereas mines is hotwired as its a stolen recovered.. -__-
