New Runner 172

I havent been on here in a while and have a new bike / project so i thought i would post it as ive already started. i sold all my bikes apart from the nrg 172 which i swapped for this runner and a bit of money on top.

This is how it looked when i first got it...


I sent the middle panels / mud guard etc. panels off to be sprayed black, anodised the foot plates and air vents and also re anodised and cut down the pm end can. The engine casing polished and a few nuts and bolts have been dipped.







Stripped and started to clean bike...






The engine was started properly yesterday. The specs are;

ported malossi 172 kit
ported/flowed casings
Bgm 54mm crank
kb racing head
polini variator
standard clutch with springs
malossi gears
28mm del carb
pm59
electric water pump
and all the other little bits like manifold reedblock 13gr rollers etc.







I am looking to get this done within the next few weeks for the IOW rally, so keep posted. let me know what you think...

i know im not supposed to put this on here but for some reason i couldnt put it on the for sale section.. i have a polini clutch out of this bike if anyone wants to buy it, in good condition, looks new.

 

That should be fucking rapid when it's done.
I know it is off topic, but when is the IOW rally and can you get there on L plates or a 172 reg'd as 50?

 

LOL there is like 3 police cars on the whole of IOW and thousands of scooters, last year i had an obvious show plate on for the whole time i was there. and nobody bothered me at all. so you can basically get away with all sorts over there. ( not that you should tho )

 

The I.O.W rally is great you can do what you want ware you want ANYTHING GOES the old bill are never no ware to bee seen and if you do see them you could have an R1 engine in your scoot they would not turn a eye and the whole island is coverd and i mean coverd in scooters!

Bank holiday weekend end of august it goes on for about 3-4 days and most people camp at smallbrook or kitehill farm..

 

A little update on this bike, we have finished all the work on the engine and have just put it in.. i had 3 water pumps which were all crap so im going to try and get one today. heres some pics when we was putting the engine in and just before..

 

That engine casing is gleaminggggggg LOL
