new post indicator

when you sign in and their is new post and then sign out and then back in the new post indicator wont be their. so you dont know what you have not seen ?

like when i am at work i will read emails and if i have a email saying i have a pm i will come and read it then sign out then when i get home and sign back in i dont know what i havent read

is their anyway you can keep them till you read it or manually get rid of them?

or am i being daft and that is in the settings ?

It is possible but it would annoy the fuck out of you. Say for one you never take a look in the maxiscooter session but everytime you logged in there was a star beside it. would annoy the shit out of me.

As Terro says it takes alot of work for him to code into the server and it would slow down the server since it would need to remember every single user and what they looked at and what they didnt. I say just live with it.

 

other option would be to then read all you want and then like this site on the front index, click all forums read

well we're on the subject would it be possible to put the mark all posts read button at the top of the page...

I dont read every single post on this forum, i just selectively read things,
if i like the title or its a subject that interests me...

it saves me reading aerox related posts etc etc lolol

but its a bit of a pain having to scroll all the way down the page to hit the mark all posts read button, and then scroll all the way back up...

Lol hes requesting one. XD Though you could intergrate it into the stars so if you click on it will go away. i know many forums that do it this way.

its right at the bottom of the page if you scroll down to it!!!

Theres also 1 on the main Board index called "Mark all forums read"

 

Nope. I haven't. Seen this on many other forums. Never seen one of those on SS. I'm on vista now, but never seen it when I had XP either. On this comp or my laptop.

i read every post and i mean every post till they all are gone.

i dont physically click sign out.

but like close the page and then come back on they are gone !

where as all the others can close down the page then re-open and will be still their the ones you havent read.
