Hello All, Well My lad had wrecked another piston on his speedfight :banghead: I have fitted the mallossi 70cc big bore kit to it so am wondering if anyone knows of source for just piston and rings please? The bore is fine as we caught it early when power dropped and it had trapped a ring (dont think clearances are set right from factory). So just need rings and piston really and will hone bore to allow run in of new rings. Any help much appreciated :thumbsup:
not quite sure what ur trying to say just get a fresh 70kit, fit it and rejet the carb and setup the transmission to suit.
make sure you use the correct size piston.. the casting code is the same but there is a letter stamp in the top of the piston aswell as the bottom of the cylinder.. match the letter fr the cylinder obv. fiond the cause of the wrecked piston dont just replace it..
Thank mate :mrgreen: I think the piston going constantly is down to sh1t ring clearance provided by mallosi piston. It has gone a few times and each time the ring is trapped in groove at front face (exhaust port side) happens after a few months. I have the engine running slightly rich as beign the lad he is he rings it's neck everywhere. I am sure if i jetted bang on it woul dmelt piston in a week lol! Unless of course carbon buildup is the culprit. or perhaps sub standard 2 stroke oil? Need to check oiler is operating correctly also.
if he rags it lifelessly everywhere it wont last more than 2 months constant use (depending on mialage) cant blame malossi for your son riding his bike full throttle everywhere for hours at a time. i get a couple months out of a piston/kit when i do 20+ miles a day
