If I de-restrict a new exhaust on my Yamaha YN50 Neos, will I have to change the jet on my carb?

If so, what size should it be?

    Cheers,
    Jools

Do you know what size jet is in now?

Unfortunately no. My guess is that it´s just the factory standard. I don´t believe the previous owner fiddled with it.
I have the service book and its been serviced every 6000 km without fail, so I think he´s just ran it as a standard scooter. Of course this is all guess work, the exhaust for example is a bog standard giannelli GO.

Assuming then that it's standard, you need to find out what standard is, either by looking in a Haynes manual or googling, then search on here for the 'jetting guide'. That should give you a good starting point. Buy yourself a pack of jets from eBay or pedparts and then experiment with the different size jets until you find one that suits.

    That's what I'm doing.

Thanks for the tip. I´ll see how it all works once I change my rollers, belt and the exhaust .
If it does the job then I might leave experimenting for a while. Otherwise I think I´ll follow your advice.
    Cheers :)
