New front pulley and drive belt.

Bike wouldn't run. was making a lot of noises after my drive belt got shredded and front pulley was worn down.

Replaced both and it started fine takes off fine but the max speed is low maybe the belt is slipping but the belt feels tight.

Wont get a chance to work on it until next week as the back wheel nut came off when i was riding it to test it. One problem after the next eh?

any ideas what could be causing it?

the whole cvt case has been cleaned spotless as well as the clutch etc and new variator weights added as well.

 

are the new rollers different weight than before?

 

It's not a weight problem with the rollers, I tried the old and new ones and it made no difference!

 

could the belt be stuck in the pulley. Try running the engine give it a bit gas and make sure the belt travels up and down both pulleys. Also are the pulleys opening and closing?

 

Yeah the clutch and opening and closing as it accelerates and the variator is also moving in and out as it accelerates!

I may just leave it in to a mechanic a day im off work and get him to have a look at it and sort it for me

Haven't had much luck.. i don't need it for work any more which is a bonus got a new job 10 mins walking distance. But i've managed to get it working enough for it to go 50mph without belt wear just something still not right.
