Ok fitted my gianelli reverse exhaust and 62 main jet tonight. good news it now pulls 55mph! on the flat but has no bottom end at all, as in it wont pull away unless i give it full throttle and wait. I'm thinking that my idle mixture/pilot has to be reset to composite for the new exhaust.?? i've got 5.5g rollers fitted and standard clutch springs. which way do i turn the pilot screw and how many turns etc...
thanks in adavnace...sorry if this is a repost but i cant find no proper info.

Ok i'm sorry if i come across a little hasty but i'm really stuck now, i need the bike useable for work. I've tried to research the idle mixture screw but no joy. I'm thinking i need some strong clutch springs lower my main jet to a 60 and fit the 5g rollers. i'm just stuck on the mixture screw....

Thanks... if i turn the srew clockwise it will richen the mixture, anticlockwise it will lean it off. Do you think i need to slighlt richen the idle mixture? i'm going out in the garage now to fit my lighter rollers and play with the mixture, also shall i fit the 60 insteaed of the 62?

Just change the springs, first and foremost as thats whats causing the wait you're describing THEN adjust the carb. I know there was a guide on this and like it says most problems can be traced back to the transmission, you're idle mixture ain't gonna be the problem more than likely i spent ages trying to get that right and nothing worked, decided to wang in the springs (this was my first ped and first modification btw) and it was fine, fine tuned the screw and bobs your uncle !

Mainjet, geez check your plug whats it saying ? We could sit here all day discussing it but only you can see that plug !

Just ordered a evo 2g clutch so i'll fit that and see how i go, gunna check the plug after i've run it a few days, possibly might have to drop down to 60. I'm getting there slowly! lol

turn the air mix one and a half turns out, ajust from there, this WONT cure bad transmission or JETTING. you need to change the rollers, they sound too heavy.

The clip on my needle is in the middle and it will only rev up when i open the throttle full if i wind the pilot screw out half a turn. To me its running too rich because if i lean the mixture with the pilot screw it wont rev at all just bogs down. Whats the std setting for the circlip on the needle

Its a zip ac 50cc 2001. put 4.5g rollers in checked plug and its running spot on at 62 just abit unsure about the postion of the clip on the needle. currently in the middle but was on the top postion.

Before i moved the clip ( was on the top ) i reset the pilot mixture screw. all the way in then 1.5 turns out. it wouldnt rev up without bogging out. so i turned the screw 0.5 turns out from been fully in to get it running something like and reving clean from idle, so i assumed the mixture wanted richening hence thats why i put the clip on the middle slot on the needle....

remember... that screw is the idle mixture.... will only be in effect until the main jet and needle start operating....

your jet size will determine the mixture while you are riding the bike....

did you try lighter rollers like has been suggested?
