I had the stilo plus exhaust installed on my LX50 as the standard piaggio exhaust wss rusty amd full of holes. although it still hits approx 43mph its taking longer to get there and at the lights from stand still it hasnt got the same amount of poke/torque.

The garage said that the old exhaust must have been derestricted and he test drove my vespa and said that it seemed fine to him and for an LX50 it still hits a higher speed than it should.

    Whats thoughts?

you've changed the pipe but may need to do a jet clutch spring, contra spring and roller change to suit the new pipes characteristics.

probably better to do that.i think its the best your gonna get at that level of pipe..atleast you havnt got a rusty bit of crap hanging off your bike.makes it a bit more saleable too.would be a good idea to have it checked that it's running on the right jet though...don't want it seizing up cos of it .main jet is operational at about 3/4 to full throttle so as long as you don't hoon it about for a long time you should be ok.a garage that does MOT tests will have the gear to check the exhaust gases and if they can get the probe up the end..a bit of a turn on the air screw may get it at a safe setting for the time being.
