    Hi,

I have a 1995 Yamaha BWS CW50. The old standard exhaust is leaking, so I'm looking at changing it. I have seen a TECNIGAS NEXT-R Exhaust for sale, but I've been told I will need to fit a bigger carburettor jet and may need to do something with the oil supply, or I risk engine damage.

I'm wanting a little bit more top speed, as it's a bit dangerous on the main road. At the moment the speedo reads a maximum of 33mph and the scooter always feels like its being restricted. I live in a hilly area, so I still need power to get up the hills.

Is there a way to find out the size of the standard jet and how much bigger do i need to go? Also, how do I make sure that the oil consumption is sufficient?

    Thanks :)

Usually tacit advice is given by manufacturer regarding jetting, inadequate oil supply for mildly tuned engines can be overcome by underperforming oil pumps by pre-mixing (adding oil directly per tank) at specified ratios.
