Ok, I've rounded together the cash to get some parts in. 70cc kit, polini sport, is top of the list obviously, but is it worth getting a new crank as well?? The clock is reading around 5800 miles, to be honest is the chance of the crank snapping a small one... I was thinking of changing it when it got nearer 10,000 to get some more use out of the stock one but at the same time I don't want to risk the crank snapping because we all know that'll cost more in the long run. Advice please!! Thanks
The chances of the crank snapping with a polini sport kit are very small... its usually the main bearings and big end bearings that wear out rather than the crank snapping... 5800 miles is just approaching half life expectancy of the mains...assuming the engine has been run on good oil and well looked after!! so if it was me then i would whack the 70 kit on the std crank and that should see you for about another 5000miles
Yeah, sounds good to me! Couldn't find a racing crank to fit it anyway. Little question, how come when different models use the same engine type is it that cranks are advertised as fitting one particular model, and not an engine type???
Its totally confusing. Like take this one for example... I would of thought this would fit the street magic, as they share the same engine and other parts. Says it'll fit a Suzuki Katana 99. https://www.pmtuning.co.uk/Merchant2/me ... 0-PMRC0010 Makes sense until you see another crank for a morini engine, that apparently only fits Piaggio and Gilera's. https://www.pmtuning.co.uk/Merchant2/me ... 0-PMRC0011 So would they both fit, or either one?? :wtf:
Yeah I did, but they only have a stock crank thats labelled as fitting a Suzuki Street Magic. Couldn't find a racing one. Nevermind!! I'll worry about it in about 5000 miles time.
