was the carb set up fpr your bike or just brought for any bike? chance are it will need jetting

secondly take the airfilter off and have a look with the bike off, see how high the slide is open with the throttle colssed, then slacken off the cable to see if it drops lower.

Thanks for the reply i think i know the problem now as the airfilter wasnt on when i tryed it and theres no choke in it as the auto choke broke so it was a air leak hopefully as im expecting the manual choke on monday.

i found with a faulty auto choke my bike wouldnt fire, it might cough and then flood but wouldnt fire.

if you take the auto coke out and simply fill the small brass cylinder with solder you can push it back in place and it will act as if the choke is tunred off. thats how i go round mine, but a manual choke is a better idea haha

as for the airfilter being off that will lean out the carb a fair bit, but should still tick over ok ish, i know i removed the filter on my 50 a few times for a laugh and it ticked over fine

I didnt expect it to fire up when i tried it as it didnt have a choke or filter and had just changed carb but it did haha

And if thats the case i might have to play round with the throttle cable because your right it souldnt make a diffrence when its ticking over, it should just bog on throttle response.

should be adjusters at the carb end and bar end.

if thats not enough youl need a new cable
