new bike project yamaha xj600s

hey ppl bort a yamaha xj600s 1996 yesterday problem is it wont start found out its not sparking lucky me just checked the coils there fine loom is fine starter motor fine spark plugs fine
anyone know what could be stoping the spark n light is on so not in gear
if not might have too find A
auto electrician thats not going to be cheap or sumone who knows about bikes

some Yams (mine included) have a side stand switch to cut the engine if the stands down and its in gear. When they go faulty it affects the bikes starting.
Trace the power from the ignition and see how far it gets. Could be something as simple as a faulty kill switch

 

need a multimeter first as i dont own one lol

 

ive taken it off both stands and still not starting its trying just no spark lol

 

any idea how to bypass both of them ?

 

i mot sure but this might help . when i was connecting up my alarm system on my bike it had that function of remote start and it said that i might not start because the clutch is not pressed so as manual said you just have to connect both of the wires that r coming to the clutch together , im guessing is gona be something similar with the stand?

 

thanks for the advise but think i found the problem it was imobilised the last owner tryed removing it and didnt do it right so think that was the problem so its gone too an auto election
