Hello i am new here, i am a fairly new scooterist, i have been driving for x ammount of years and suddenly for work and getting around town a scooter seemed like the best thing! although i managed to scrape through and pass my test i am not a very confident rider and would welcome a chat with someone similar who could give me advice etc, at the moment i have a skipper 125, which is a bit tired now, i would like to get a 150 just for a bit of extra poke, but i fear theres not a lot of choice, i am unclear as to what cc i am able to ride, i think i am restricted to a 250cc for 2 years and then i can ride a 500cc so can anyone confirm this
    thanks
    jenny

let me be the first to say welcome :D

so you've passed your full test? if so you can ride any cc but not exceeding a output of 33 hp

why not make a post asking the questions you need to know ;)

    hello an welcome

your skipper has the same engine as a typhoon (if its 2 stroke of course) so you can fit a 172 kit to it. probably your best option for now

hey if u have passed you A licence u can ride a 33bhp bike for 2 years then ride anything..

    piaggio x9 500cc is 39bhp
gilera nexus 500cc is just over 40bhp
    piaggio x9 200cc is 21bhp
    gilera runner 200cc 19bhp

is the skipper 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
you can turn it into a over 20bhp 4 stroke monster with 210cc and bolts ons..
or turn it into a over 20bhp 2 stroke monster with a 172 kit and bolt ons..

Well thanks for the welcome, and yes i am an old girl, going through a midlife crisis i am told, but love the scooter and wish i had taken it up when i was a teen, and then maybe i would be more confident now!
