I can't help you with actual costs. But I heard a restricted bike can cost more to insure than an the same bike unrestricted. Might be worth getting a 500 or something
Its not all about engine size its about the style of bike, yes the large percentage of how insurance cost is calculated is to do with cc but if you have a tourer vs a sport bike they will think that your going to be a more sensible rider. For example when i pass my bike test its cost £900 on a gsxr600 if i had a bmw fs650 it would be £350
