Hey, I noticed today on one of the main roads that my Ped (de-restricted, sports exhaust, lighter rollers) is incredibly slow to accelerate past 42mph....People may claim im expecting to much but when the engine has only recently been started (i.e not too warm) it's a bit better at is comfortable until 46-47mph ish. Is it getting to hot? Or is it something completely different, like adjusting the air/fuel screw? As you can probably guess from the above, im no expert
Your getting to paranoid mate, all engines run better when cool.. They run shit cold and shit when hot.. When at full runnin temps it will be slighty slower coz its hot! U will know bout it when u overheat just dnt hold it flatout for miles. And 42 is all ur gona get on a neos 50.
Cheers Remember that the 42mph is clock speed...and it was achieving more not long ago! Not sure whats changed thats all. Rollers were down a gram from stock...so 5.5g and the exhaust is a Streetfighter sports exhaust.
Has it got a manual or auto-choke? If a bike runs better when cold/first started then gets worse as the engine warms up it could be down to fueling. The auto choke richens up the mixture and slowly turns off, the scoot runs well at first until the choke switches off then runs worse so you go up on the main jet. If you`ve got a manual choke, run the scoot until warm and the performance starts to drop then open the manual choke slightly, if it improves go up on the jet, if it`s worse go down on the jet. Another tip for top-end jetting is get the scoot warm, ride it at full throttle then back-off an 1/8 turn of the throttle, if it starts to pick up speed your too rich on top end, slight drop in speed about right, sharp drop in speed your too weak. This will only give you an indication of jetting and should be accompanied by plug-chops etc.
What tit said , the bike runs better when cold than hot , Other way m8 , learn before giving advise , why do you think people warm bikes up before riding :yahoo:
streetfighter exhaust never heard of them tbh. could just be that it's a shit pipe but i wouldnt know. 1. is the pipe derestricted? 2. rollers too heavy or worn. 3. when i changed pipes on my aerox i had to come down from 5.5g to 3.5g (youre rollers could bee too heavy still) 4. finally have you upjetted? do you notice flatspots in your rev range?
