ok so basically my bike had a problem after a service, when i would max it out 40 mph ish (yes its a slow bike idc) it would lose then regain power, in this time i fitted a new racing exhaust too. after we got it home the inside part of the spark plug had been stripped, so we bought a 80cc kit, i wanted one anyway and it fixed the stripped problem, after that i tried to drive it home and it would just misfire and not move for about 2 seconds when i applied the throttle, max of about 20 mph, we got a van and brought it home, stripped all the bodywork to check that everything was connected right ect and suddenly it worked fine!!! but when i pulled away it would take a couple of seconds :/ we thought the clutch might be slipping so we bought a new sports clutch, a new belt and variator and still had the problem :/ we tried new rollers but still never fixed, we fitted a new carb too, due to the broked choke and just worn. still had the problem, then we swapped jets and it only did it a few times, but now using the same jet it does it all the time :/ we are really stumpped :/ is it the jets? or what? we have spent loads of money replacing everything and its still doing it ( the 80cc kit is worn in by 700 miles!) is it a cdi problem? we have tried loads of unrestriced cdi's but they all blow the fuse my bike is a 4 stroke btw!
also when at top speed or any speed, when you let the throttle off and put it back on it still takes about 2-3 seconds till the power comes on
i think im going to try some jets and we have a new cdi ordered, its just so hard to find the right one, any idea what size jet i should go for?
Throwing new parts at it won't solve your problem. When you install things such as big bore kits, race clutch's, variators etc, they need setting up. They're not just bolt on and go. I'd advise buying a various amount of larger sized jets and just experiment with them until it starts running right. Also set the fuel/air screw every time you puting a different jet. Once you've done this, do the same with your rollers, experiment with different weights until you find the best suited.
