I think you need the MOT to insure a vehicle no?... Pretty sure insurance company dont want to insure vehicles that arent certified as road legal!

MOT -> Insurance -> TAX .... Isn't that how it works?

You need it all to be able to be on the road as well.

When i switched it from my zip to my typh they didnt say anything really apart from cc etc.

MOT-INSURANCE-TAX hmm i thinks thats the idea, but ive got insured before and then rode the bike to a mot garage.

Now the bike i want is 20 mile away from me, i was going to book it in for a m.o.t to prove that im going to get it mot'd and taxed just getting it there and it will be insured.

you can insure without tax. i have several bikes and cars insured without MOT and tax and renew the insurance every year to cover if they got nicked

You cant have a vehicle taxed that doent have an MOT and if you dont surrender the tax/declare SORN then the DVLA will fine you for it without notification (£100)...its your responsibility to notify THEM not the other way around (according to them!!!)

you cant tax without mot (if older than 2 years) & insurance

Only time you can ride it on the road without MOT is if you're going to or from a pre-arranged MOT inspection

Exactly what stig said, im going to pre-book the mot so i can ride it home then take it to the mot garage and go from there, bike will be insured, so if i get stopped by police then i can say ring the garage to confirm and ill be on my mary way?
