need help plz

today me and my friend was at the traffic lights when he went to pull of his nrg jsut cut out and he heard a ping noise from the bike and the bike wont start no more. any ideas what it could be

 

Sounds like the belt has snapped to me but im no expert

 

Has he botherd to open the tranny case and have a look if anything looks wrong ?

 

its dont even sound like there is any life in the bike it dont tick over nuffin. it just cut out at the traffic and wont start look in the tranny case all seems alright dont know what it could be

 

Belt wouldnt affect the engine starting to be honest...

is there a spark at the plug???

is fuel getting to the carb??

 

we cant see no spark from the plug but i will get him to check the carb

 

theirs your problem then.

if the spark plug aint sparking,

i always carry one and a tool to replace it under the seat in case,

on 2 strokes they can go pretty much anytime.
