i know a few day ago i said i was not gonna bother but i did i went and got a new spark plaug and some easy start and now it starting but in high revs with easy start. read this below u mite be able to help . nearly had it ive been tring to sort out the high rev before i try it just petol alone i took the throttle grip off so i can pull the cableby hand and then tryed it still high revs but looked along the cable got to the carb and seen the blot thing(i think the adjuster), was on it last therd so turned it down abit did tryed agin wouldnt start. so i put the grip back on and lost the spring back(you know when i let go of the throttle grip it goes back on it own) when twisted so i look at the cable near the carb tunred down the bolt some more and got my spring back but sometimes i lose the spring back. also the grip is a bit lose so that what mite be the problem but if i do it any tigher than it is i dont get my spring back(still on about the throttle grip).i got some on control over the revs when i started it it went low revs nearly cut out but still going then after 2 secs went back to high revs. so i think its a matter of fine tuning the throttlecable. what do you guys think ?? just for info its a gilrea runner 125cc sp 2002
take the top of the carb off and unclip the throttle cable from the slide..remove the holder, and the spring put the top back on making sure the slide is seated correctly if you look thru da air filter bit and make sure it is touching the idle screw and put the carb settings too idle screw 2 1/2 out and air fuel, small screw 1 1/2 out...then try and start it again
also u hav checked you inlet rubber for crack/holes yh? and your reeds for wear/ not seated properly?
i only know of the air mixture screw and that already on 2/half. as fair as i know the reed is all good and the in let rubber has go a crack but it not anything mayjor i check see if i could see througth and cant ill put up pics one sec
well im not sure where the idle adjuster screw is but thereis smethingup with my cable some where like i said i have some control of my rev for two secs but then went high agin. nut ill make sure its sat properley tomozz once i have that sorted i have to get the bike running with out easy start i mean i know it runs cuz easy start bruns out straght away so i have it running for 2 mins but ofcourse at high revs.
the idle screw is the one you circled mate and the thing next to it is an air/fuel mixture screw but on them carbs its like a blanking plug.. it could need adjusting..are your jets clean??
u sure it not the other way round cuz i pug my finger in the plug hole and i twist that big one and i get more fuel the tighter i twist it?? well i dont think ive go an air leak i think as my throttle is constaley open its letting to much air in so wont start.
mate you need to start from the begining. check your throttle cable aint sticking, air filter off twist the throttle all the way back, looking in the back of the carb let go the throttle slide should drop at a good rate and make a thud as it hits the idle speed screw, thats the big one.. do this a few times to make sure, drop the float bowl off the carb remove the jets, make sure they aint blocked and everything looks ok..put float bowl back on. While the carbs off remove the inlet manifold and reed block, check the reeds are good, hold the block up to the light there shoulden't be any gap between the reeds and the block.. have a good look at the manifold, clean all the mating surfaces.. all ok reinstall , use some gasket sealent. Refit the carb everything tight ok.... set the mixture/air screw 2.5 turns out from fully in as a ball park figure. fire her up.
you need to know exactly whats operating 100% correctly and whats not as tbh it could be something completely diffrent as i swear you said in your other thread that the throttle cable was only taken of to try and fix the problem but it wasn't put back on properly?? and that it was off another bike?? if it's adjusted to t he fullest its either stuck or to short try that throttle cable thing if it starts you know exactly what you've got to do simples get a new throttle cable.

on ur other thread i swear u said u took a throttle cable from another bike and put it on the runner n now the slide is not sitting properly..not starting on its own and not idling obviously...buy urself a new throttle cable that is actually made for your bike the big black screw wouldn't chande an thing because the slide is raised way above its operating area,,,its there to fine tune the position of the slide for idle speed...
no it the same throttle cable i just took the grip off so i could pull the cable but hand lol why does my throttle split into two ?? one fore the carb the other to the engine casiing??
ill have to show u the i can see througth my carb one side to the other with out twisting the throttle ?? ill pull my throttle out and show u what i mean also ill take a pic of the carb to also show u what i mean
