Naraku Big valve V2 manifold - what's the verdict?

I bought a Yasuni Z exhaust pipe from eBay recently and when I went to collect it, I was given some odds and ends with it, including a bag of assorted rollers in varying states of condition and an apparently unused Naraku Big Valve V2 reed block and manifold. The manifold is quite a beast compared to the Peugeot 100cc one and I intend to fit it to the engine of my TKR 2 50cc as part of the rebuild, fitted with a 17mm Dell'Orto carb. I've already gas flowed the exhaust port of the new cylinder to improve it's performance.

My question is simple; has anyone on here tried the Naraku Big Valve V2 on their scooter and what was the verdict in terms of any performance gain? I know that some people don't have very good things to say about Naraku stuff, but I am tempted to try this, particularly as I got it free and the reeds look massive compared to the original ones.

 

Does it have the carb adapter rubbers with it?
I just looked at Racing Planet for it and it says for Minarelli horizontal's with dellorto carbs up to 21mm and 70cc or above will work. Doesn't say anything about fitting to a 50cc, be worth a try i suppose, but i think it may be too strong for the 50 to operate properly.

 

Yes, it's complete with the adapters for 17mm and 21mm carbs. I'll be fitting a 17mm carb to it and if the reeds are too strong, I can always take those out and put a Trekker 100 reed block between the base of the Nakaru manifold and the engine block. I've got a Trekker 100 manifold anyway, if it doesn't work out.

I guess that I'll be writing a review at some point!

 

Scooterworks say that the Naraku Big Valve is suitable for all 50cc Minarelli-based engines, so it's definitely going to be installed.
