I am currently upgrading the original (built year 2000) 50cc Piaggio engine in my Vespa E-2 scooter. The primary reason for the upgrade was to replace a worn variator and clutch. Like most things I do, I get a little carried away. The scooter is for street use only. Typically this is a 15 mile run between my home and my shop. The original engine configuration with some minor de-restriction could handle this short run at 25 to 30 mph. And, I could handle the traffic and the pissed off drivers that wanted to ride my A#$ and run the three lane road at 55 mph. At times, it seemed like the 50cc Piaggio engine was going to come apart, but it was the stock variator that wore out first. I decided to replace the original variator, belt, and clutch with a Molossi Multivar 2000 and Delta Clutch. During the downtime, I got carried away with a 70cc Molossie Cylinder Kit, 17.5 Dellorto Carb and Tecnigas Next R Exhaust. It now looks like the engine will need to be pulled and striped to fit the cylinder kit, so I thought it might be a good time to rebuild the engine (ignition, crankshaft, gearbox, bearings, seals, etc). Like the variator upgrade – I got a little carried away. I now want to gear-up my gearbox. All of which is way over my head. Any help/advice - short of buying a new scooter - would be appreciated. My original desire was for a total Molossie solution for everything on my E2, but that desire has shifted – I am now looking at other manufactures. For example, I am looking at replacing the crankshaft with a Top Racing Evolution NG crankshaft, a Top Racing solution for the gear-up and the reed valve upgrade. I need some help with, 1) Crankshaft upgrade – need advise, 2) Replacing both the primary and secondary gear sets (gear-up) – need advise, 3) Ignition upgrade – need advice, 4) Carb jetting – need advice, and 5) Reed valve selection. My desires for my little Vespa has not changed – most likely I will not run it over 50 mph and at 68 years old I will keep both wheels on the street unless I crash. It’s just on “my bucket-list” of things I want to do. 2000 Vespa E-2 50cc (Piaggio) Tuning Configuration: 70cc Molossi Cylinder Kit (316926), Dellorto PHVA 17.5, Molossi Multivar 2000 (519019), Molossi Delta Clutch (5214110, Molossi Belt (6111246), and Tecnigas Next R Exhaust (de
