    ok,

here we go, got a Madness JSD50QT-27 50cc

the original belt snapped and totally destroyed its self (could not get a single number of the belt),

so i emailed a company who sold me a new belt (they said it was the right one) i also ordered a new front pulley and rear pulley that the belt runs through,

so all back together and off for mot, (flew through mot) on way home the brand new belt snapped (new belt had covered 8 miles),

so pushed it back to mot centre, they looked and said its the wrong belt and ordered and fitted the right belt (so they said),

anyway 20 miles after having second new belt fitted that snapped to,

could there be a problem with the 2 new pulleys i have fitted? (yes they are fitted correctly)

    cheers
    karl.

did the garage fit the belt? or you? some brands are always prone to snapping, but if it's too long it can hit the top of the crankcase causing wear.

maybe your clutch is warped causing ity to slip, then grip, then slip etc making it hot and stressing the belt? can uou start it up with the casing off so you can see how the belt is moving?

    the belt has snapped (again)

i have fitted brand new front pulley and clutch pulley,

does anyone have the exact size belt number for this scooter? JSD50QT-27 50cc

the original belt snapped and i could not get a number from the belt,

is a new belt when fitted a bit tight round both pulley`s?

because when i fitted first new belt i had to really pull the clutch pulley apart to get belt to fit over front pulley shaft?

    cheers
    karl.

yeah you normally need to pull the clutch pullys apart to fit the belt over the front

how hard is your contra spring? Too hard can make your belt snap prematurely sometimes
