Hi guys, new to this forum. My sisters bf had this in his shed in the way so i said i'd take it off his hands! It's a 53 plate catalyzed Zip. my first scooter, well apart from a Yamaha 80 i had when i was like 11! My previous bike with a vfr400 nc30 so this is quite a change. Anyway I'll need some advice here. The bike dies at full throttle, i googled this and it seems to be quite common, any ideas for me on what it could be? Also I read there's a restrictor on the exhaust inserted at the manifold, but i took mine off and i can't find it. next is the leg coming off also a restrictor? can i remove the egr set up? anyway, got to work quickly and started stripping it I'm a panel beater so i'm gonna tidy it up for a bit of fun and respray it, i have some black basecoat left over from a Chrysler 300c i'm doing work on so i'll throw that on and see how it looks! any trick to get the front panel off, or do i need to take the front wheel and mud flap off then get to the 4 screws at the front?
To get the front off you will need to remove the 4 screws in the corners (sit on the seat and they will be facing you) there are also some screws in the glovebox, if you remove them, the front panel should slide off. there is also a screw on the front of the bike ( in the middle of the air vents) On a side note, How do you open the glovebox ? I cannot open mine, im beginning to think its broke, ive tried both keys and twisted the key in the barrel both ways, to the point where I nearly snapped the key. I even tried to prise it open with screwdrivers. the damn thing is indestructible. Im just curious as to whats in it, for all I know the previous owner could have left a bundle of £20's in there
