hi all,i just finished rebuilding my typhoon and i thinked to post some pics of it.i have done a total rebuild, and i have spend many many hours of personal work.im waiting your impressions or opinions. the above pictures are the beggining.i bought a used typhoon 125 that was covered full on oil and dog hairs.i have done a lot of cleaning to make it like new. starting to fell like scooter fitted 13'' wheels rear and 12'' wheels front from gilera runner 125 rear disk brake conversion from gilera runner 125 fitted all black color with red details all body panels painted matte black.
not often I like typhoons but I do like the look of this one, not in your face, nice clean, sharp and simple. really do like it.
thanks a lot, scootmadness. i wanted to be simple, just a scooter for daily use.the engine without mods, only for reliability.replaced rear drum to disk brake for better braking and replaced all fuel lines to reinforced ones, just to prevent future leaks.the color is matte black spray for low attention.
being a Typhoon fan I think it's very tidy indeed, I will dock you 1 mark for the front mudguard, Typhoons don't use them! Otherwise I like it.
thanks a lot,the front mudguard was necessary because with the runner fork it had bigger gap between the wheel and looked weird.
yeah, thats similar to the runner mudguard.i took all front system from a old runner i have,so i didnt buy extra parts...
can i ask you something?i have a vibration when i close the throttle until idle,i checked the cvt and i see that the belt is little loose and hits at the case(i can tell from the marks on it).do you experience anything similar to your typhoon?
Most auto scooters do that, it could be the nylon bushes in the scissor joint worn out or maybe to tight if they've been fitted wrong?
i have changed these bushes and tight and loose them twice with no difference.. the belt has marks on it,is it possible to be the contra spring of clutch?not to tight?
Take the joint out, you don't need to take engine out as you know. Make sure the nylon bushes are in all the way, fit the steel tube and make sure it stick's out slightly over the bushes both ends, 1/2mm will be ok each end. Make sure there's no crap/paint build up on the frame where it bolt's in. Make sure the long bolts are tight, it should move freely (not loose)when bolted up.
thats real nice, i love red and black, i think they go so well together. it looks kinda wierd with the mudguard, but i have the same on my scoot actually (not a typhoon!)
Very nice! Where can I get a rear brake disk conversion like this? I would like to put one on mine aswell. Could you give me any link? Thanks!
