    Hi De Hi campers.
im just getting back into scootering after finding this in my mates garden under some ivy

you can see from the last pick the ivy mating with the loom
its t reg, de restricted 50 LC speedfight 1
it hasnt been moved, ran or even touched for 6 years or more.
but after half an hour of re placing the 2 fuel hoses, coz it had neither and i wasnt sure which one was which, burning my finger on the plug,a little brake cleaner, and using a drill on the from pulley cos the starter mech is somewhere else in the garden, pop pop pop.
and it was off in a cloud of smoke. ticked over no problem for half an hour on the old fuel and plug.
so now need to strip and sort everything from the ground up so if any one has any spares, they`ll go to a good home :good:
it`ll be nice to get it back on the road coz i havent rode it since i was 17 when i last had a ped

i spent an hour today striping the rest of the wild life out and tried to clean up the starter and kick start mech, which, unfortunately is pretty goosed. the casing was taken off because neither was working and then left off on the floor. this has mutated the teeth on other stuff onto a ... well mess. so thats something that will probably need replacing, but will have a go at tomorrow.

i reacon it will cost about 100 quid to get it mot ready, as one tyre is not worthy for a start. so just weighing up weather to just buy a bigger engine and make a sub frame etc or buy the engine bits and tune this engine. it's done 26K, beliveve it or not :confused:cratch: and not yet been written off :rotfl:
i'm well able to do anything mechanically, but not really too much financhially.
will post pics tomorrow of it stripped a bit

which has a exhaust, oil pump, starter, tyre and spare wheel, which i happen to need :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
i was thinkin of a trike

and realised that an exhaust bolt bracket thingy had snapped on my original engine, so split the ac engine in 2, so i could get the side that had both bracket`s intact and put it on my lc engine
    [IMG]
coz they nicley have the same bottom ends :good:
    will update soon

this is the better half, not to mention the missus, lol
i`ve gone for the engine split coz its got both exhaust brakets, and the original i had didn`t. i might aswell before i build them both back up.
but it was getting expensive, i snapped 3 drill bit`s getting out the old bolts, its another trip to the pound shop ;) lol

the 2 engine sides (the casings) are cast then machined as a pair, you should replace them as a pair. if you dont the bearings wont last long, the seals deffinatly wont last long and simtple things like the reedblock area wont be flush, the cylinder deck wont be flat and in some cases a cylinder plain wont go in.

new bearing's when you put it back together, every time regardless of condition.

i did use proper drill bits, it was only a joke :)
thats a fair point minor, what do you reacon about the exhaust bracket though as the top one has snapped and its alot of leverage over the length of the exhaust and strain on the single bracket and cylinder :pale:

i have painted the casing before i came back here, so it might be a wasted effort, but it look`s better and is better in the long run

what minor said is not only correct its what WILL happen

my garage replaced one side of my engine casing on a speedfight 100 years ago. the bike was fine before after long it started vibrating then vibrating more until i couldnt take the vibes anymore even ticking over it was a nightmare.

find a way to secure the exhaust with the original engine casings. the speedy 100 i have as a propject had the bottom of the exhaust bolted to the stand :confused:hock: i thought wtf but when i looked it was actually a perfect solution and the exhaust was solid as hell
