sounds good with that pipe, they sound nice if you take the silencer off, i really need to get a recording of my vf, my pipes are homemade! i like that model cbr, they are nice and skinny and light, the newer ones are a little bigger

What sort of speed will a CBR do ? I remember the average leaner legal two stroke doing about 75ish ( more with tuning). My lad will move upto a 125 and the CBR was one of the bikes he liked the look of as it will be a fairly long term thing I want something useable for him.

they are all restricted to 15hp, unless you get a 2t they are all about the same really. (i work as a motorcycle mechanic and ride a lot of bikes) the rs125 is probably the fastest 125, rotax 122 motor, unrestricted 30 odd hp, although a 125 2t runner will be 20 odd hp with a decent variator and pipe. 80mph is about the most you will get out a 4 stroke 125 really

Thanks Scubabiker, I had no idea the power output for learner legal 125's was 15hp I thought it was still stuck at 12hp. I had memories of the 125 four strokes struggling to do 60-65 on a very long road. CB125 twins and the old CG125 being some of the four strokes about when I last had a small bike.As he wants to pass his test on the 125 to allow him a little more freedom.I wanted something that was able to take him the 100 miles or so into Wales to do some camping as I did when I was 17ish and had just passed. This new law 125 till you 19 is a real pain in the arse.

    Thanks again.
