hopefully a quicky this one, i spotted in the haynes manual that when re-assembling the top end you need to clamp down the cylinder to determine the base gasket thickness. does anyone do this? or is it plainly obvious which gasket to use? or has this been superseeded?
different thickness gaskets available so i would have to!! why do they make things harder than they should be?? :banghead:
Right i'm with you . I'm tempted to say 0.6 , but wait for someone a bit more experienced to confirm .
different base gaskets determines the squish, http://www.sacoriver.net/~red/squish.html i think by clamping it down it means to get the squish right so the compression is bang on
thats right mate, just wondered if peeps bothered, i want to do a de-coke and clean up the ports so just wondering. seems a shame to turn a half hour job into a waiting for a new gasket game.
