Picked it up today, love it already engine is standard 1.1 lump but its on adjustable coilovers and is dropped at the back
Absolutely love these , those rims are noiceeeeeee . would love a set of them for my old banger . Roof rack must go surely ? Nice motor mate .
i honestly cant rememer what rims they are they dont make them anymore and were imported from germany :L ill find out for you, preety rare though and yeah roof rack is going in the garage till i get the road trips going pretty quick for an old banger aswell
Nah don't bother mate , could never afford a set anyway , was just admiring. Again , lovely car , keep it looking that way. Some new (cleaner) headlights and a HID kit is about as far as i would go, de cat if it has one .
xr2 system no cat and there not dirty its light protectors with a yellow film will take the film off soon and definately HID's, and i've got to raise it slightly the gearbox cradle hits everything :L
love old ford's i do. thes have fwd crossflow dont they? if so a ka 1.2 engine would be a good upgrade with over twice the power. always liked these though especially the xr2i
why on earth would i put a ka lump in it ? ill keep it standard engine for about a year then just zetec it, i'll be doing a good 200 mile trip reasonably regularly so want something that can cruise quickly
because the ka lump is a upgraded crossflow so wont take much to fit and twice the power and cheaper to fix etc. why not a 2.0 zetec then? or to be more sensible a deisel engine a 1.8 td endura engine would be good if it could fit. with few small mods 120mph is atainable and they are great on fuel
i like a power band that isn't over in 2 seconds ? and i will use a 2.0 zetec, they fit on the xr2 mounts if you mod them a little bit and if its a mondeo engine the engine loom is easy to work with onto the rest of the car, but all that is just wishful thinking for now, standard ftw !
deffo go for a deisel then good on fuel for your long trips and they are nippy. a 2.0 tdci would be a nice motor. i take it your not telling your insureance about the conversion? i also think a deisel engine would add to the charicter of the car if your going for the rat style.
im not going diesel lol :L and im not going rat style, its just how i bought it. i only got it because of the condition its mint body wise except a few bubbles under the lights and under the arches, it will be very different quite soon.
Really? If they are correctly adjusted , not a silly brightness/colour then its clearly an improvement on the crap candle lights they fit as stock on old cars ?
im with mick here the lights on it atm are shite, country roads at night are a bit questionable at times
