Ok, im questioning for a mate who cant go on scootershack because his pc is ruined. his nrg is a 58 plate. with the chrome gianelli exhaust, dont know what model. and recently there has been this rattling when he revs up, like something bouncing around is his casing. but its not because we checked. and i thought a blade may have come off the fan? but do nrg's even have fans because they are liquid cooled? any ideas on what it is? it increases in tempo when he revs up. thanks
a water cooled bike won't have a fan for air circulation for the engine, but it will have one in the transmission case. I would have the transmission case off and inspect it all, including the securing nuts on variator and clutch bell.
The chrome one will be the Giannelli extra are you sure its not the exhaust rattling, the extra's have rubbish end cans that work loose after time and rattle, also ive known a few cases of the restrictor dropping into the down pipe when people try and grind it out, this will rattle in the way youve described... if that checks out, as Guns has suggested, it could be something in your transmission, whip the tranny case off and take the pulleys off and double check everything
