supprised you dont use the same tank and use a peice of copper as an anode and the item as a cathode... thus copperplating the artical.. or any other element you wish to plate?

all set up for it. even for a bit of fun theres nothing funnier than a copper 10p or a silver 2p... confuse some shop staff LOL

i did this at school i think i remember anode and cathode etc lol

great vids, as dave said with the electricity vs water thing are there any dangers here or is it ok with 12v?

its not even 12v constant.... its VERRY low ampage via a charger.... christ 12v CANT shock you.. it needs a coil to build up amps/voltage to even make a spark...

static electricity is 50,000 volts hence it arc's across surfaces. fuck all amps tho (hence it sparks and dies out instantly wiht no trace) 12v works under water.. literally... can submerge a 12v curcit and only see slight losses. no chance of shock (unless you dump the charger itself in water)

this works on the same principle as electricity.... negative to positive.
imadgen theres a row of people.... alternatively they have an arm raised. the first taps the one infront wiht his raidsed left hand, this in turn tells the one infront to tap the sholder of the guy ahead with his raised right hand.. thats basicly how electricity works. the polarity of the SINGLE molicule of conductive material (metal) being reversed from positive to negative meaning the magnetic force of the next. a proton (positive partical of an atom) is changed from one polarity to another (the job of a battery creating the difference) thus sending said proton to the next atom where it creates a DIFFERENCE meaning one of the electrons from the new atom becomes a proton. thus the chain continues... electro plating/electrolasis is mearly a way of taking a partical of another material along for the ride... be it rust off an item or a new material onto a surface.. sending a sub atomic partical through water via electricity. call it what you like, its all pritty similar stuff and rely's on predictive behaviour in atoms wich we all take for granted... like the voltage that is going through your computer right now.

anyway enough blah blah, im way drunk and rabbiting on and on again. get on google and look up electricity.. will soon see why 12v is COMPLETLY harmless unless a capacitor gets hold of it, in wich case it no longer remains 12v ;)
