How would you know if fuel is gettin to the carb? when u kick the bike over and throttle... would this send fuel down the line into the carb?

i have checked the spark and there is 1, and there is compresion what could be wrong?

after you have tried to start the bike, whip the plug out and if its wet with petrol, then yes theres fuel getting through, and youve flooded the engine (too much fuel)...

take the plug out and take the vacuum pipe off for the fuel tap, kick the engine over untill no excess fuel spits out of the plug hole, dry plug off check for spark, refit along with vac pipe and try again....

if however the plug isnt wet with fuel, take the petrol pipe off carb and the vacuum pipe,
suck on the vac pipe, which will open your fuel tap and if everything is ok fuel will come out the other pipe :)

Once ive tried to start it it isnt wet with petrol it just has slight oil on it or grease..

nah i do not think it is flooded..

were is the vacuum connected to? and the fuel line would be connected to the carb and a fuel filter is it or fuel tap?

and fuel will come out of what pipe?

    thanks

the fuel pipe is usually the thicker pipe that runs from the fuel tap to the carb,

the vac pipe will be the thinner pipe...

you disconnect the vac pipe from the carb, and suck on it (to mimick engine vacuum)

your sucking will open the tap and fuel will pour out the fuel pipe, no flow and your fuel tap diaphragm is goosed...

ok thanks, so for definate if i suck on the vac pipe fuel will run through the fuel line..

so if the fuel tap is faulty what could be wrong with it? and would i be able to get it working?

my bike was running on sat night and when i went to start it on monday morning it did not start do u think that could be the problem?

I was basically answering your question:

There could be any number of reasons why an engine doesnt start, its a process of elimination basically....
