Ok well it's maybe not a fanny but it's rubbish.
My front tyre keeps going down since I got the scooter (baring in mind it had been sitting a good while). The problem's got worse for the couple of weeks I've had it now until I could get round to it.
It was so bad today that I pumped it up to go to work (I know...pumping up your tyre to go to work-feels like those old cars you used to have to wind up to start) and by the time I finished it was as bouncy as a 4 year old after a packet of Skittles.
Checked the valve after I'd pumped it up and it didn't seem to have any air bubbles coming out of it. Reckon it's just the tyre perished or could it be the seal round the wheel?
I'll probably get a new tyre but just a pain cos the tread is still fresh as hell.
If so anyone got a good link for tyres?

I'll try and get it off tomorrow to check it under water but just asking...

chances are it's corrosion round the rim, you can either:

    1. do the job propely, remove the tyre and clean up the rim outers with w+d paper and re-fit the tyre

    2. you can use tyre weld or slime to stop it going down. its where the paint flakes that it leaks.

Thanks. I was going to rub down and paint the wheels anyway so you reckon that would sort it?

yeah, you've gotta get it pretty smooth to seal, fist scrape all flaky paint off then rub until there are no ridges in the paint.

if you are planning on spraying the rims then this is the perfect opputunity.

you will need to break the bead, this is possible in a vice or with a proper bead breaker.

LOL Thats a bit harsh, Best bet if you dont know is to take to a tyre place if in doubt like its cheap anyway what i payed 3 to get my rear tyre put on not breaking the bank really, but ive got tyre levers and use a big rubber mallet pmsl sorts the problem.

it seals when you pump the tyre up.

bead is the inside of the tyre
breaking it just means pushing off the rim ridge.
