well last week i finally found the bike ive been after. on an 02 plate 6k miles, techniwank racing exhaust etc etc and i love it. but. it has a couple of issues. firstly the front thottle cable seems too long and there is loads of slack - when i twist the throttle it spins almost right around until the bike starts revving. do i just need a new throttle cable? also, a couple of days ago i went out on it and went through muddy water that was deeper than i first though and my bike just stopped and wouldnt start. after pushing i home i finally got it going, but along with the normal engine sound is a low pitched whirring/moaning sound. any ideas? thanks alot fellas Rambo
rite have you adjusted it on the carb and under the throttle to take up the slack? id let your bike dry first so that any water which may be in the engine is gone
I would get a new throttle cable if you need to twist the throttle all the way round as that one is obviously too long. (Or the above post ;D) As for riding through that puddle/shit it could be electrical related or if you have an open air filter it may have sucked water into the carb.
thanks for the replies lads. im pretty new to the moped game - how do i check my air filter or carb for water/shit etc? i took the needle out of my carb earlier and there was what looked like specks of dirt in the chamber thing - is that a big problem? if so how do i fix it? thanks again
s it could be spark plug cap, could of got wet somehow. and if youve found dirt in carb, i would clean jets nd stuff.
