i crashed yesterday :wallbash: me and realbigfish were on a duel carriage way and both lanes had stopped so we wer filtering through traffic at around 15mph. a car that was travelling in the opposite direction then pulled out infront of us both to get to a side road to our left. we both slammed on our brakes, my bike skidded and i clipped realbigfishs bike and we both slid down the raod. we stopped like a foot away from the guys car. i banged my knee, elbow and head on the floor (thank fuck for helmets, always wear them kids! :ugeek: ) my side panels are smashed up and i snapped my brake lever and scratched my scorp the guy pulled over and i got his details and stuff so goin through his insurance and stuff just got back from the doctors and ive got whiplash and bruising around my shoulder and back they said i should go get a quote from a garage for the damage to help assist there claims inspector so im worried about my 172 and scorp, what they say or do? and what should i do?
sorry to hear that mate. if the accident aint your fault they wont say nothing about the engine mods as they will be making money from other insurars and not loosin money
Hey mate glad ya not too badly hurt. It's a bit 50/50 tbh. You shouldn't of been filtering as close as you was and any junction, to the left or right of you, literally you should be doing walking pace as this sort of thing will happen. You both may of not crashed if you think about the above next time You have experience now and hopefully won't do the same, but can you see where if you'd have been riding different it may of never happened?
ye agreed, filtering is legal, altho if you have an accident while out of lane position the accident is your own fault.. people shouldent have to look in every direction when there manovering, they cant see you, so make sure you give way. i nearly had a few smashes like this yesterday alone (traveling across london) all you can do is carry on on your way.
If the guy wants to be a cunt. you dont have a leg to stand on. You didnt hit his car so he can get away with it. because he will just say he hasnt had any damage on his car so he wont want to persue dont ever ride too close. you were obviousely going too fast to lose control or you just have shit tyres
