Well, finished my exams and as a present my mum bought me and my bro a trackday at brands. First trackday for us both n was nervous, got there n everyone with their track bikes etc, us taking off our numberplates and taping up our mirrors lol. We had our own pits too :)

Was a really good experience n I got the bug, I wanna go back already. Was in the novice group but was really suprised, some people looked like they had never been on a bike before. I had my knee down on quite a few of the corners, and was a first to get my left knee down too

Had a good few races n was one of the better people in the group, overtaking quite alot. Had a race with 2 r1s, did me on the straight (just) and I done them on the corners. Second run out and two people came off at different times. One of them, coming up to a corner, crapped it and went straight, locked up and off in the gravel. The other crash was around that corner but went wide.

Anyway....here's some pics. First 2 are the pro pictures I bought.

    And a couple of vids:

In this Vid, if you freeze frame, after the first bike, is my bro on his black r6. After that pack goes past is a red fireblade and then me, was like that for 3 laps. I did him on the corners but he did me on the straights (just)

In this vid is my bro first, then me at about 13 secs.

Was a wicked day, can't wait to do another :hello:

I'd love to do a track day on my bike, but the thought of wrecking it, and having to get bus puts me off lol, and hiring one is a bloody fortune lol.

maybe in the future me thinks.

im very tired and this is prob a stupid question lol, but why do you have to take the numberplate off?

Yeah was great fun, want to go again!

Well, the speedo headlight and mirrors were taped up. No lights allowed (apart from brake light) The speedo is a distraction apparently, because you might be doing 120 around a corner, crap it and come off. Maxed 4th gear on the straight, so I'll find out how fast that was hehe.

I was so tempted to take the duke but I'm still getting used to it but I can throw my CBR around like anything so thought it being my first trackday and it was mean't to rain that I shouldn't take it.

Yeah Jack I've always been the same but the way I see it is that on the road in the right places you give it some, what difference is a track? It's better and you just don't have to go mad. I don't know why the numberplate came off because people had theirs on :confused:cratch:

That was last night mate (Thurs) you gotta do one mate, you'll love it, I wanna book another one now. There was alot of people just watching from the side, big car meet aswell that night and they were watching.

riding on a track wises u up, you realise you can never push yourself that far on the road so you don't even bother after doing a few...fast road riding is a waste of time..u aint no where near your limits like your are on track o_O

people take there plate off as insurance company's pay people to go to tracks on open days and write down registration numbers, they cross section this wiht "road" accidents of similar date to crashes on the track...

this is why people remove theres..not mearly for insurance fraud of course.. but somwhere there is a record your bike is used for track use...

Minor you say BSSO as if I'm mean't to know what it means hehe. Me and my bro are thinking of getting a track bike now though.

Dec you sound like a old wise man, get what ya mean though.

Yeah fire there was a couple of 2 strokes going round the track. The r6 is 07 ;)

Jack, yeah I did give it more, but because it is safer, you know your limits, you're not gonna push em more though?

Hehe Dave, deffo worth doing, just gotta be confident n don't go mad. Was so easy to give it more but just ain't worth it, it ain't a race.

After studying 3 years in public services at college, i lol at most of the bullshit people say on here..... BUT...

    He's So Close..

Anybody noticed the new tall speed camera's ??

They scan numberplates as they drive through the white things on the floor, and they use a laser which scans the plate and something else on the car (which i cant remember atm)

And tells them if the car is insured or if it has been reported stolen. From there the police are reported.

    Words from gatso there selves...

(They showed us all there equipment and how it worked on a trip out from college)

    So yeahh......
