Ordered a new air filter as its about time unfortunately it arrived broken and im awaiting the replacement but in the meantime decided i should check on my filter and found it like this yuck!

It smells of petrol a bit is that normal? looks a bit oily so im sure some petrol has touched the filter as well.

    NSC110/ ET2.
Found it's waaay cheaper to buy sheet and cut your own, replace cartridge type by visual inspection/mileage/any doubts.

thats not bad at all what is it a yamahe something or other? 4t neos? majesty? ive seen them filters totally grey. i actually service my own filters, as i own enough performance stuff to neccessitate buying the K&N recharge kit thing. works on standard filters too, one day i will buy a K&N for the honda and BMW. (they are lifetime filters, did you know that?)

How bad of an idea would it be to use this? it arrived broken and although they sent a new one it seems a shame to throw it. I hot glued it to try and seal it and it looks okay. IMG_20150902_120615.jpg IMG_20150908_074310.jpg

Iv already stuck the replacement filter in so this will do as a backup/emergency swap for the future then.
