No, you have the Piaggio one fitted, colour means nothing on OEM springs.

On aftermarket springs, it can denote what range the revs will rise due to the contra spring, e.g. 1000, 1500 or 2000 RPM. It is for this reason that Polini and Malossi ones are colour coded.

It will take off a lot smarter and accelerate better, as the Malossi and Polini variators have steeper ramps inside. Don't expect more top end, as the variator is limited by the physical size that can fit in the transmission case, so the variator pulley can only be so big.

Your standard variator may have a spacer washer in the middle, to limit the size of the pulley - if it has, ditch that first and get a free upgrade while you save up for a sports variator.

so just remove a washer out my standard one ??? and that will help a bit,,,,,and yes im trying to do the little bits instead of just slapping a 70 kit on it so will probs get this variator then. is there any other ways of gaining a little more top end as its running a yasuni exhaust sponge filter with a i think 98 jet and only had 43 mph tops out of witch is mad lol

yes, removing the spacer washer between the pulleys will allow the belt to travel higher up between them, allowing for a bit more top end. You should also think about slightly lighter rollers for the variator as it will allow the engine to rev a little higher.

I do mean slightly, half a gram drop in the weight across a set of six rollers is a LOT, so don't go mad reducing the roller weights or you risk over-revving the crank and snapping it. Your engine will probably make peak power at 7 to 9000 RPM and you could maybe risk up to 10,000 RPM but anything more than that risks wrecking the engine as the crank wasn't designed to take that stress. The heavier standard rollers will naturally limit the engine revs as it needs more power to make them throw out and move the pulley.

I hope that this makes sense to you. If I need to explain if further just ask.
