moving speedy 172 shock back ?

ive been going through every possible way of moving the shock back so
would it be ok if i simply drilled the right sized hole through the frame for the runner shock to bolt to and simply bolt it from the other side of the tube ??
or will this fuck up my frame and head to it snapping ??
any input appreciated ??

erm the original hole the shock goes into is reinforced isnt it ?
i think drilling a hole anywhere would be a bad idea
wouldnt be strong enough, its only thin
maybe get a few welds put on the frame to strengthen it ...

 

have you asked any of the other people that have done the conversion? im sure there's a guy on italjetdragster?

 

his wasnt a runner shock he welded 2 plates for a shock to be bolted into

 

if i was you then i would take all my plastics off, undo the bolt of the top of the suspension and move the suspension to where you want it, then take some pictures of the frame put them on here and ask someone how you could reinforce the frame or even if it needs reinforcing.

also why do you NEED to keep the runner shock?

 

id probs try drill frame but put a large washer or a shock mount it you have one on the shock tighten it up so it presses onto the frame then get it weded and suported and it should be ok

 

orite m8. i just made a bracket further back 4 my rear shock. i just used sum bar that was same shape as the letter L . :bird: .then put 2 bolts thru the frame/tube. 4 sum reason it waint let me get pics up 4 ya. add me on msn if u can. imp: . al send u em ova there.
